Find Dr. Scott on Facebook Scott Haltzman, M.D., is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is a graduate of Brown University and received his medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. He completed his psychiatric training and chief residency at Yale University, and then practiced psychiatry as part of the Brown University faculty for more than 20 years. From 2012-2015 he served as the senior outpatient psychiatrist at The David Lawrence Center, in Naples Florida, where he was appointed a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Florida State University. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Fuller Hospital in South Attleboro, Massachusetts and conducts marriage education through his headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Haltzman has gained international recognition for his work on infidelity and in support of marriage and committed relationships. He has appeared on the Today Show, 20/20, Nightline, Good Morning America, The Rachel Ray Show, and in TIME, Glamour, Redbook, Parent’s Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and local and national radio, TV and print.
Dr. Haltzman’s most recent book was published in the summer of 2013 by Johns Hopkins University Press, The Secrets of Surviving Infidelity. He has published three books with Jossey-Bass/Wiley with co-author Theresa For DiGeronimo, the bestselling, The Secrets of Happily Married Men, and The Secrets of Happily Married Women, and The Secrets of Happy Families, 2010 silver-medal winner, Nautilus Book Awards. He co-authored the chapter, “Men, Marriage and Divorce” in the American Psychiatric Press book: Men and Mental Health. He is an internationally recognized speaker, presenting at the annual conferences for National Alliance of Relationships and Marriage Educators and Better Marriages. He presents regularly at the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). His 2012 APA lecture, “What is Marriage Education” was chosen as a national educational tool for psychiatrists and published in audio format by Audio-Digest Psychiatry.
